Don't Get Involved!

It will happen. It’s only a matter of time.

Someone, somewhere, will have a complaint, issue or favor to ask you – the board member. In this person’s mind and knowing that you sit on the “board of directors”, you must have clout, have all the answers, and of course, can make things happen. And certainly, that is not the case.

Always remember, it is not the responsibility of any board member to solve personal requests or get involved in the day-to-day operations of the Health Center.

When you are asked for favors, explanations, or confronted with sensitive Health Center issues, use the following “non-involvement disclaimer” answer to remove yourself from the situation and direct the individual to the proper Health Center authority who can best solve the problem or answer questions.
